Abstract Lakes, rivers and oceans provide unique resources support fisheries aquaculture worldwide. The sector of Kenya contributes approximately 0.8% to the country’s GDP. Marine production is about 9 000 tonnes per year. finfish form bulk marine production, while shellfish (e.g. prawns, lobsters crabs), molluscs octopi squids) are underexploited. Fishery has potential USD 5 billion for Blue Economy in Kenya. Crab fishery active some areas south north coast. crab along Kenyan waters diverse a variety species edible. most commonly fished by artisanal fishers Mangrove Mud Scylla serrata. Semi-commercial industrial usually have portunid other deep sea crabs as by-catch trawl longline fisheries, which many cases unutilized.
